The UW Stroke Program hosted its second Retreat and Refresh Stroke Camp Sept. 19-21 at Green Lake Conference Center. Twenty-one stroke survivors and their caregivers, plus our volunteers and trained staff combined to create a fun, inspirational and valuable time away from the normal routine. The camp is a mix of group activities and educational experiences enabling caregivers to connect with each other and stroke survivors to discover new ways to build their best lives. Dr. Dempsey joined Stroke Program Coordinator Chris Whelley and others to both help campers and learn from them as well.
